Version 1.1 allows you to associate words and/or an image with each number (0 to 999). You can quickly view the associated words and image while memorizing. Use this for a quick reminder while memorizing a list of numbers or to assist in memorizing new associations.
Digit Drill is an app for the iPhone and iPod touch that helps perfect your technique for memorizing and recalling numeric data.
Overview
Digit Drill generates a random list of numbers, steps you through that list one number at a time and then prompts you to recall the list from memory by entering the numbers in the proper order. After you recall all of the numbers (or as many as you can remember) Digit Drill will calculate a score and provide you detailed results.
Setup
From the main screen tap the gear button to go to the setup screen. On the setup screen you can associate text and/or an image with each number (0 through 999). This text and/or image is available to view if needed from the Memorize screen while memorizing a list of numbers.
The leading zeros option, when turned on, will include a single leading zero on all single digit numbers.
Configuration
On the main screen you can set the range of numbers to be used and how many numbers to include in the list. Then tap the Start button to generate the list and begin memorizing.
Note: If the list is configured to be longer than the range of numbers to use then the generated list will include duplicate numbers.
Memorize
Numbers from the list are displayed on the Memorize screen one at a time. You can move forward and backward through the list. After memorizing the entire list of numbers, tap the Recall button.
If the current number has text or an image associated with it, the Flip icon at the bottom of the screen will be enabled. Tap the Flip icon or tap the number itself to flip the number over and see the associated text or image.
Recall
On the Recall screen, enter the memorized numbers one at a time. After entering all of the numbers (or as many as you can recall) tap the Results button.
Note: After typing a number, tap the green checkmark to add the number to the list. Use the red X button to clear the current entry or to clear previous entries.
Results
The Results screen will display your score plus a few other useful statistics as well as a list of the numbers you memorized alongside the numbers you recalled.
Scoring is based on the number of correct digits recalled, the average memorization time and the average recall time. Digit Drill will track your five top scores.
